Part-time Project Coordinator (5-15 hrs/wk)

The Flag of Equal Marriage is a same-sex marriage advocacy group with a loyal online following. We are looking for a part-time project coordinator who can help us pursue some of the great opportunities that are opening up to us. We're looking to move our symbol into the physical world with a large, real-life Flag of Equal Marriage. This will be a very special flag, touring around the country, flying in the most recent state to pass same-sex marriage legislation. New stars will be sewn on at a special ceremony.

In the short term, we need someone to get our fundraising campaign up and running (secure relationship with fiscal sponsor, develop Kickstarter.com giving incentives, coordinate Fall appeal). In the medium term, the coordinator will be responsible for building partnerships and coordinating the travel of the flag.

While we are presently a volunteer staff, the right candidate can certainly turn this into a funded part-time position. The primary benefit, beyond playing an active role in an important cause, is the visibility of this position. This is a great opportunity for you to be instrumental in developing a national conversation about same-sex marriage. We have some fabulous partners, so you will be working with people you will be quite pleased to have in your contacts list.

The right person will have a passion for same-sex marriage activism and wants to get more directly involved with the advocacy organizations supporting this issue. Much of the groundwork has already been laid, we have a huge base of support, we have great advisors, and we have some fantastic ideas.
